There is an old adage that is used as a test...
"If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck."
In accordance to such adage, Wikipedia states the following...
"The test implies that a person can identify an unknown subject by observing that subject's habitual characteristics. It is sometimes used to counter abstruse arguments that something is not what it appears to be."
In application of this rule, there are a lot of people in the truth/freedom movement that believe that they are American nationals, sovereigns, freemen, etc. The gist of these special titles is that they are not subject to the laws of the federal or state governments. The fact of the matter is they have been misled by someone telling them they are not. They are in fact subject to the law they think they are not subject to simply by their actions (see Ashwander Rule ).
Let us look at an example: Say that you worked for a company that provided some kind of benefit program to its employees. Can someone that is a nonemployee get benefits? Answer, No. So in applying this simple rule, if someone is taking advantage of certain laws of the "Federal System" and its "Private Law" establishes that one is actually a person under that system of law, which is deemed private. Such law operates on a certain scope of people and things.
